Hello Laura,

I did something similar as what you explained.

The way I went about it, is to use Micorsoft Access, connected via ODBC to =
the Mapics AMFLIBX library, created a Bill of materials view, and a query =
in the AS400 to get the routing operations, and their cost
Then created a few queries in Microsoft Access to create the cost for the p=
arts.
We use this to view variable overhead in a gross profit query, but this can=
be used in any query requires costing.

If this you would like more details on this, please let me know and I can s=
end all the information on how I built it and how it works.

Best Regards,

Hello Laura,

first create your simulation site in Power-Link - use the function Copy to =
copy your production site to simulation site.
Then make all desired changes (change facility rates, overhead rates etc.).=
You can use SQL or RPG program to modify your rates in simulation site (be=
carefull as usually :o) The submit Costing for your simulation site.
Create a query to compare costs in production site and simulation site.
I usually delete the simulation site immediately, because it is confusing f=
or Engineering to have two records for each item, faclity, BOM, routing.
Works fine.

Hello:
Has anyone successfully set up costing simulation in Powerlink? There is a=
KB and documentation referencing costing simulation but not very detailed =
instructions. We have fiddled but it simply just does not work.
Can you share any advice or recommendations please.
