Please help,

I am a developer trying to make software work on DB2 for the AS/400 V5R2. I have worked with DB2 on the AS/400 way back when it was V3R7, in 1997, and I swear, there is a HUGE difference between the DB2 on the AS/400 of V3R7, versus IBM's DB2 V8.2, which one can download today from IBM's website. And this gives me concern about developing for DB2, period, let alone V5R2 of the AS/400. Of particular change, is "semi-colons" and transaction handling. I can not remember for sure, for V3R7, but I swear the queries back then let one use "begin transaction", "commit transaction", and "rollback transaction", and that queries nested together did not have to be separated by semi-colons. But, V8.2 does not have the various aforementioned "transaction" syntax, and its queries require statements to be separated by semi-colons. And, this implies to me, that queries made for V3R7, would not work on V
8.2. Now, please correct me, if I'm wrong, but if this is true, then at what point did th!
e DB2 become different? And what about V5R2? Can I develop queries for V8.2, that will work for V5R2? And vice versa.

Please someone help,

Thanks in advance,

John
