John, At V3R7 the DB/2 was as vastly different as you suggested between that at 8.2. That has changed. I believe if you look at the DB/2 that is in V5R3 you will find it to be almost the same. The major differences are in space management. In i5OS you don't have to do it. i5OS manages the disk performance and space allocations for you. Queries will be the same. There are some i5OS extensions that cannot be used in the other versions, but they are for legacy stuff.
