I agree with the Experts Guide to OS/400 & i5/OS Security by Woodbruy and Botz. Also excellent (and a very quick read and reference) is Power Tips - Security for OS/400 Security by Dan Riehl. This book is available from www.pentontech.com and goes for less than twenty bucks! Most thorough presentation out there. Carol's company SkyView Partners also sells two software packages that will help you control your security the way YOU want it to be. It also creates reports to be presented, with much bowing and scraping, to your auditors... :-) With SOX, security is a BIG issue. You might find after finding out what it all entails, you might want to put your 'Software Engineer' title on the shelf for a while... I have been dubbed the 'Security Officer' unofficially, in addition to my 'Software Engineer' title, and would like to define this role more officially. Does anybody have suggestions as to what the normal functions and duties of an iSeries security officer are? Any books, articles, publications, etc would be helpful. Thanks, Adrienne McConnon _______________________________________________ This is the Security Administration on the AS400 / iSeries (Security400) mailing list To post a message email: Security400-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/security400 or email: Security400-request-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/security400. _______________________________________________ This is the Security Administration on the AS400 / iSeries (Security400) mailing list To post a message email: Security400-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/security400 or email: Security400-request-Zwy7GipZuJhWk0Htik3J/[email protected] Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/security400.
