True, but I said a PTF could be applied permanently. My comment about  
a later PTF was intended for the usual case of temporarily applying  
PTFs. Re-reading my comment I see I could have been clearer.

When a later PTF is applied any earlier ones that are temporarily  
applied that are superseded by the later PTF are permanently applied  
and marked as such. Contrast this with the case where the later PTF is  
applied but the earlier PTFs have not been applied. In this case the  
earlier PTFs will be marked as superseded.
