IWS service logging failures

I have a web service that was working but needed a change. Now the service starts, but gives an error code of 500, then the program crashes. Any further attempts wind up with a response code of 404, not found. Cool, program has an issue, dies and needs fixing. I cannot find anywhere in the IWS logs or job logs or anywhere I can think to look to find any error information or indication what's wrong.
