First of all I think you should try to find out WHY the http-instance refuses to start. Search for a joblog with the name of http instance. Reasonably, the only part of the configuration that you may be able to change in the webadmin is the httpd.conf configuration file for the actual http instance. If nothing else works you can try to restore the config file, it should be located in the /www/<http_instance_name>/conf/httpd.conf. Preferably restore it to the same location with a different name like http.old. Then you can compare the nonworking and the old configuration files to find out where things went south.
