PCMCIA card issue

I just got a Cisco Systems
24mb
Linear Flash
PCMCIA card (mem-c6k-flc24m)

When i plug it in it says

"There is a problem with this card. (Newton cannot recognize this type of
card).

I know someone else wit this card and it works. But right now im having
issues getting any software onto the Newton as I dont have a serial cable
etc to connect to my Mac or Pc.

Help.
