Folks, I've just released a full set of tarballs for all
public ARK teams, and updated the http://ark.sf.net/ web
pages. Here's the blurb I submitted to freshmeat.net:
ARK team: `doc' values ("documentation fragments") are
now in use. `Proxy-hosts' work sensibly in more cases.
The `--constraint-hosts' flag has been eliminated.
Sidai team: The simple Webware-based ARK presentation
tool is included. Dependencies are more carefully
handled when compiling packages. Solaris 8 is now known
to work. A new NIS-less password-distribution scheme is
available to try out (warning: perilous!).
Glasli1 team: Many packages have been upgraded to new
versions.
Actually, there's really a lot of good stuff since the July
21 snapshots, though not much of it would qualify as
'dramatic', especially if you're on the ark-dev list.
For what it's worth: I would strongly advise ARK users and
potential users to use CVS as their primary access
mechanism. After all, ARK is little more than a systematic
way for sysadmins' CVS repositories to talk to each other :-)
Let me know of any problems.
