updates (weakly)

Folks, I've just checked into CVS what I have lying around;
this note is mostly to remind you that we are not dead in
ARK land.  (Matt is probably not dead but probably *is*
rotting in some US jail, where he is running
amok^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hon holiday and, undoubtedly,
giving new meaning to the phrase `drunk and disorderly'.  If
you get a phone call from a stranger asking for bail money,
it's probably him.)

The stuff I just checked in included:

* Essentially no ARK (the team) stuff

* A bug fix for the 'ersh' script so that it works on HP-UX

* Mostly action on the Sidai *-config packages...

  - findutils-config concerns itself with setting up the
    `locate' fast-find facility in a sane whole-site way.

  - hpux-rc.d-config is about system tweaks for HP-UX (10.20
    or 11) which you make by setting things in
    /etc/rc.config.d [a fairly decent arrangement for
    controlling init.d boot scripts, BTW].

  - net-config is about setting up the config files for
    network interfaces and such; I now realize I checked in
    entirely *un*finished stuff :-(

  - shells-config - have added stuff to set /etc/csh.login
    and /etc/profile, and also /etc/SHLIB_PATH; some of that
    is HP-UX only.

  - root-acct-config - Concerned with setting the home-dir
    stuff for 'root': .profile, .bash_logout, that sort of
    thing.

I've not put up FTP snapshots or anything.  (Am mostly
trying to knock a paper into shape.)
