Much earlier today I noted:
>Probably reasonable, but I've got the bit between my teeth now ;-)
So I've spent the last few hours bashing on this (and watching telly,
mind) and I've got what seems to be a working solution with minidom.
I pulled down, compiled, and installed Python 2.0 and indeed there has
been substantial work on minidom between 2.0 and 2.1 (2.1 looks a whole
lot better). I implemented my own version of the missing 'normalize'
function in ark.utils and it seems to be working. I've now tested:
Python 1.5.2 + PyXML 0.6.5
Python 2.1 + PyXML 0.6.5
Python 2.0
Python 2.1
Berto: please pull the latest version of xmlfile.py and utils.py and see
if you get any joy. If that works for you, then you can uninstall PyXML
and run without it.
Now I think I'll go to bed ;-)
