updates 2002.01.13

Greetings, ARK colleagues!  Happy New Year to all.

It was *great* to meet some of you at LISA in San Diego;
here's hoping it leads to some Good Stuff.

Immediately to more mundane matters... I'm back ARKing in
the usual way, which you will know if you follow the CVS
commits.  Nothing earth-shattering has hit the repository,
which is why I haven't said much about it.

(Diving into details...)  I am feeling pretty good about the
"invalidating caches" code that has been sneaking into ARK
over the past couple of months.  In particular, I am no
longer kept awake at night by the CVS repository code, so
feel free to use it.  I hope to make a "release" (not that
they really matter in ARK land) in the next week or two.

I hope to have some "higher-level" (i.e. interesting :-)
things to report before too long; meanwhile, it's the usual
old stuff.  Thoughts, worries, comments, flames, etc., all
welcome.
