The problem is that most of this magic appears to be optimised for packages
and similar things. It assumes that the host should be figured out from the
standard host context machinery. This breaks down when the thing itself is a
host.

I put in a special case which I'm not particularly happy with. I keep
getting the feeling that the magic thing-dependant code needs to be
refactored in some way. I have an embryonic idea about meta-things that I'll
discuss in a further post.

I've checked in my changes, but not scanned the documentation yet. I'll take
a look at that next. You might want to cast an eye over what I've done first
in case you find it too appalling.

I trimmed my modifications to the minimum, which is just removing the check
from isSet. I've checked this in also.

Sorry, I'm afraid I have infected the Arusha code with my first
Mac-OS-X-ism: I've added code to support using AppleScript as a code
language. This allows you to do some very funky things on a Mac. The code to
do this is a wee bit messy, but it seems to work.

Again, I think there's something that needs refactoring in there.
