updates 2002.06.12

OK, I've checked in a bigger-than-usual tranche of stuff,
most of it unexciting.

Please find below (a) the Subjects: off the commit messages
[a bird's eye view of all changes], and (b) ChangeLogs for
the interesting bits.  Please ask if there is anything you
would like explained.

Points of interest:

* I've implemented the death-to-newgrp stuff in the ARK
engine that Jonathan and I have been batting around on
ark-dev.

* The "dchunks" (disk chunks) stuff is substantially
changed, to allow for multiple "replicas" of a dchunk.
This is to allow for "tapeless backups" -- I am already
running some of this now.

* I corrected some of Matt's spelling.

Because of the death-to-newgrp changes in the ARK engine,
please consider this code, uh, *not* production quality.

+ 	(or either one).  This routine does the untangling.
