problems with try-ark

i'm evaluating ark to manage a large number of systems, and followed the =
test drive setup recipe to see what ark can do. when i finally ran the =
try-ark script, i ran into an exception:

this was on a solaris 2.8 box with python 2.3.2 =20
anyone else run into this before? thought i'd ask before i start =
digging through the *.py.
