GNU M4 1.4.6
Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
The README file says: "You should install GNU M4 (version 1.4.6 or later is
required; 1.4.14 or later is recommended)"
Please try with a more recent GNU m4 version.
