It looks to me like you've quoted the *generated* autoconf code.  Can you
please show us the source code?  Note that the problem may be very far away
from where you think it is; it would be best if you could either produce
a "minimized test case" (the shortest possible, self-contained, configure.ac
that still demonstrates the problem) or link us to your complete project.
