It seems I can not use `--disable-assert` on Debian 11.&nbsp;


```
$ ./configure --disable-assert
...
configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --disable-assert
```


$ autoconf --version
autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.69
$&nbsp;
$ automake --version
automake (GNU automake) 1.16.3
$&nbsp;
