GNU Libtool 1.5 released

The Libtool Team is pleased to announce the release of GNU Libtool
1.5.

GNU Libtool hides the complexity of using shared libraries behind a
consistent, portable interface. GNU Libtool ships with GNU libltdl,
which hides the comlexity of loading dynamic runtime libraries
(modules) behind a consistent, portable interface.

This release is the first full release of multi-language Libtool.

New in 1.5: 2003-04-15

  New in 1.5: 2002-04-15; CVS version 1.4e, Libtool team:
* First stable release of multi-language architecture.
* libtool and libltdl support for Mac OS/X.
* libltdl will now use cygwins dlopen API instead of always forcing
  LoadLibrary.
* Support auto-import patch to binutils on cygwin for much improved dll
  support.
* Bug fixes.

libtool-1.5 is available now from
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/libtool/libtool-1.5.tar.gz, along with
diffs and xdeltas against libtool-1.4.3 that are also available
from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/libtool.

This release was bootstrapped with Automake 1.7.3 and Autoconf 2.57,
but is useable with Automake 1.5 and Autoconf 2.50 in your own
projects.

Alternatively, you can fetch the unbootstrapped sourcecode from
anonymous cvs by using the following commands (just hit return when
you are prompted for the password):

  $ cvs -z3 -d :pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/libtool
login
  Password:
  $ cvs -z3 -d :pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/libtool \
  co -r release-1-5 libtool

You will then need to have the latest release versions of
Automake (1.7.3) and Autoconf (2.57) installed to
bootstrap the checked out sources yourself.
