arround here, we even took the next step, and wrote some perl-
scripts which parse the afbackup-status output

instead of sending mails, we store the minimum restore info and
some backup-statistics into a mysql-database (master/slave replicated)
this allows us to generate just /one/ daily backup-report-mail,
with all the information on the nightly backups ...

imho that was the only solution in order to not get swamped with
hundreds of afbackup-status-mails (... daily ;-)
