Hello,

As many of you know we have been experimenting with a new bug reporting
system (Mantis). It is a web based system installed and running on Dan
Langille's machine (thanks Dan). To date, my experiences with this
system are quite positive. It provides us with more information that
makes diagnosing a problem/bug easier, and the response time of Dan's
machine is excellent. As a consequence, we've decided to adopt it as the
"official" bug reporting tool.

This means that within about a week, all bugs will have to be submitted
through it rather than by email. Support requests will continue to be
handled by the bacula-users email list as before.

For those of you who wish to see all bug reports via email, there is a
new bacula-bugs email list to which you may subscribe on the Bacula
Source Forge site (I'll have more information and a link to it on the
Bacula web site tomorrow). This list is read-only, and is meant for
those users who want to get the bug reports in real time without logging
into the bugs database.

Those of you subscribed to bacula-users have seen examples of the email
bug reports generated by the database. In a short time, copies of the
bug reports will no longer be sent to bacula-users, but only to the
bacula-bugs list. This gives you the option of seeing them or not.

To use the new bug reporting tool, please go to http://bugs.bacula.org
and create a login for yourself. Using it is quite easy and I trust you
will be able to figure it out.

If you have any problems or questions about the new system, please send
an email to the bacula-users list.

Best regards, Kern

PS: Many thanks to Dan Langille for installing the Mantis tool and
hosting the database on his system.
