Hello,
As is usual for a new release, there are now several bug reports against
1.38.0, most of which I have fixed. I take all bugs seriously, but with one
exception, I don't consider the reported bugs to be "serious" in the sense of
losing or corrupting data.
The exception is a report yesterday from Thorsten Engel, our Win32 expert.
He reports:
When doing a win32 Backup, the first file is sent as stream of type 4 (DATA),
but the content is of type 12 (WIN32_DATA). This means, the first backed up
file can not be restored correctly. This problem only exists if "portable =
no", of course.
I haven't yet verified it, and I don't know if it is an old bug or a new one
in 1.38.0, but from his analysis of the code that he described, it looks to
me like it *is* a bug.
So, for all Win32 please be aware of this problem and take whatever prcautions
you fell necessary. I will post a fixed Win32 binary as soon as I can verify
the problem and correct it.

Kern
