Meant to add, the Gentoo ticket references the following links for 
porting from Qt5 to Qt6.  Note in particular the reference to using the

I *do not feel confident* in doing this myself, I *do not know* C++ (and 
even my C is very rusty, not in a good way) and have never really been a 
professional code developer, but I'm willing to have a preliminary look 
at it if nobody with better development skills wants to take the time.
