Hello,

With several important new features dar-2.3.0 is now ready for
pre-release. During that phase, dar will be tested intensively (against
regression but also for new features), you are of course welcome to
download pre-release packages and do your own testing! For those
interested in testing here is the link:

Changes in Brief:
- - The documentation has been reviewed and converted to HTML
- - snapshot feature (backup a directory tree recording only state of files)
- - Dar is able to follow the Cache Directory Tagging Convention
- - pkgconfig provided (Wesley Leggette's Patch)
- - filter based on a listing file (exclude/include)
- - upon certain signals reception dar command aborts nicely and closes
the archive it was creating (letting the user to continue the backup
with a differential backup at a later time).
- - dar_manager has now an interactive mode (-i option)
- - dar_manager features have been moved to libdar
- - while performing a backup dar detects files that changed while they
were read and warn the user.
- - dar also saves EA under MacOS and thus File Forks (Dave Vasilevsky's
patch)
- - dar also uses Regular expression in place of Glob expression (both are
possible at the same time thanks to command-line switches, -ag -ar).
- - merging two archives is now possible (without decompression is
possible if same compression algorithm is used).
- - xml listing output (Wesley Leggette's Patch)
- - Dar is now transparent to EA namespaces (the "trusted", "security" and
other namespaces are saved/restored).
