-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi, if you use -[ option with dar to define the set of file to backup based on a file listing, be aware that a bug in libdar leads some files not to be included in the backup as they ought to be. There is not specific pattern of files subject to this lookup failure. The problem also concern exclusion by files (-] option) here you will not miss data in your backups but rather will find some extra files. The occurrence of such lookup failure strongly depends on the nature of the listing, a raw estimation gives a probability of 0.006 for a file to be missed in the lookup. This impacts all releases up to the latest 2.5.10. A fix for this bug is already available in GIT on branch_2.5.x and will be available in a few days with release 2.5.11. for those that cannot wait a couple of days, the 2.5.10RC4 tarball includes that fix and is available with its associated signature at ftp://ftp.dm3c.org/dar.linux.free.fr/Interim_releases Regards, Denis -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iQIVAwUBWUrYrAgxsL0D2LGCAQgBlQ/+K4tRuAZpSwFhFx/0ar8QcaXcf+JJoru5 CzDMdlco34EQMQZQtm5rZzBR/lrEyCnbV53+qfVY4O241LuZ+iKsbkxQXH88rYzr WwKek2QfR3VuiwfY0GK/CoRpzYfFZMCob82ys7NgNd5eIuwPVqeRd1+LTQeDWBSV ZaifAuw4MX3hPIVeT1dL71eA/sbhJDddyM6z05p1mIqvBHTZb5yAMQrOfG5tqPIp XM1XZEOAiIsAR4jnvM/PRQTb2n3TyUavwJUjKbn9C/V92eY/GYoTGE+S0XnPRmlA djoZKMoJWefB0elSWM/6SOfvL9NYWc5Tqi2DuR11enYtj9nnxEusGf1omeKt9m15 P0bRD6MDwAkAvo7BMLYq7YOd2hlcnOVhIj8s1yZeieDXjoyaVKf+zqaCflxNDWey jZL6Kyh125SbNE06+B+lQE+ml+8/i55VoiIgz8OhzSgsWdIX8sdAnDalUxCqoJIx U+g0TuXAN03jtCyqBHgM2Ncz+g9AXB9G/yrUrb4kjgcDDyFPpFLQt+/alW5enRGf Su3+pnnjaMpMs6FZq2vysH5ESQ+o/Z8CXN7SdW9Ro9Pu8K7LZILRBt+xAp1feEzL R1JUfIbvNC+Tt4kD4D1nUNQrDQYYcO/2C7ERswMENI0j91rGVc3eXqa0Eanr3uoK TzCes3XMeYg= =ys5J -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot
