Well that's a bit complicated when you consider that a file can be
spawned across several slices (even more than two). Would you ask the
user for the slice N-3 for it be completely rewritten? I hope it would
not already be burnt on DVD or CD.

Technically, also, there is some points to consider with encryption
which is done on the overall archive. Thus the remaining of the previous
clean file would have to be re-encrypted with the beginning of the new
version of an unclean file. This is not possible to do because of code
independance between the encryption layer, the possible compression
layer above it and above both of them the archive layer (which defines
where each file's data is located).

I agree at 100%. the -w option could also be used to suppress the warning.
