Denis,

I believe the error was "Maximum filesize exceeded" or something close to that. I have Suse 8.2, with the 2.4 kernel. What exactly is limiting the filesize? Is it the filesystem (ReiserFS) or something else? Is there an easy way to allow larger files?

Thanks for your reply, I have download the pre-release and found a lot of documentation that I hadn't seen yet.

Hello,

I don't think it would be a good reasons to limit the slice size. The
2GB limitation is due to the system (see doc/LIMITATIONS of pre-release
2 (the last for version 2.0.0). Today, less and less system have this
limitation. There is also a limitation at 4GB on some few other systems.

In your situation, which error dar exits with ?

Cheers,
Denis.
