Hello all,

As reported by Cedric Ware ( https://sourceforge.net/p/dar/bugs/195/ )
dar/libdar does not use the same way the lzo compression per level as
what the lzop program does (lzop is the equivalent program to gzip for
lzo compression).

Dar always uses the best compression algorithm having the compression
level smoothly varying from 1 to 9.

lzop uses the best compression algorithm for level for levels 7 to 9
(same as dar) but uses faster but less efficient lzo algorithms for
levels below 7. In fact there is only two behaviors: Level 1 having
the fastest and less efficient lzo algorithm, levels 2 to 6 --- all
equivalent --- having an intermediate compression ratio and lzo
algorithm speed.

In particular from those that are used to use lzo with lower
compression level than 7, I need your feedback to decide whether the
libdar implementation should be changed to be equivalent to what lzop
does or should it stay the same as what it is today.
