Tutorials on data compression

I am looking for tutorials on basically how to write DAR and data
compression in general. I have theories of my own for data compression, but
need help in implementing them.

I am building my own computers(like microchips) and the tutorials may help
me alot because I could save money and potentially use less ram if I can
nail down the extraction of data correctly.

but yeah anyhow tutorials on data archiving and compression and execution
of data and anything else related to dar development would assist me
greatly.
