I've just made a fresh start, I downloaded again the branch 2.5.x from
git repo, and the compiler error has gone. The case is that I had made a
"git pull" in this branch and the compiler wasn't happy at all.

OS targets used: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS amd64, Raspbian (Debian armhf) stretch
gcc --version: Ubuntu 7.3.0-27ubuntu1~18.04, Raspbian 6.3.0-18+rpi1+deb9u1
