the message states that the escape layer (which let dar read a archive
in sequence, without first reading the catalogue at end of archive)
has found an mark which type is unknown. This sound to be a bug. Can
you provide me the list of options you have been using to get there?

I also suspect that adding -at option the problem will not succeed. If
you can redo the same diferential archive on the same data, and tell
me you can both reproduce the problem without -at option and have no
problem with -at option this would confirm the root cause of the problem
.
