Hi Andy,

I think to have found the root cause of the problem you met. You
should now be able to read the archive you generated and that failed
with 2.6.7 and previous versions.

Can you try for that the version 2.6.8.RC1 available at
ftp://ftp.dm3c.org/dar.linux.free.fr/Interim_releases/ ?

With this version if you regenerate the archive, the delta patched
files should not show anymore the sparse flag set while listing the
archive, thing which was wrong and was most probably the cause of the
problem you met.
