Hello,  I downloaded the dar-2.6.8.tar.gz from ftp.dm3c.org and ran configure and then make.  I got the below result.  The build was successful.

dar and libdar have been successfully configured with the following parameters:

   can uses multiple threads  : NO

   Remote repository support  : NO

  DAR SUITE command line programs:
   Long options available : YES
   Building examples      : NO
   Building dar_static    : NO  (system does not support static linking, see note below)
   using upx at install   : YES

   building python binding: NO
