Unsure if you are also maintaining the Homebrew formula, but if you are then could you disable upx in the dar builds for Big Sur?
Right now if you install from Homebrew you get a binary that won’t run. Here’s what that looks like:
$ brew install dar
==> Downloading https://homebrew.bintray.com/bottles/dar-2.6.13.catalina.bottle.tar.gz
Already downloaded: /Users/xyzzy/Library/Caches/Homebrew/downloads/91948b5976a6b79d0c3c0a5a8b711997e898120e2f4c365037d71b89a1e5d506--dar-2.6.13.catalina.bottle.tar.gz
==> Pouring dar-2.6.13.catalina.bottle.tar.gz
🍺 /usr/local/Cellar/dar/2.6.13: 163 files, 8.7MB
$ dar
[1] 10376 killed dar
Searching GitHub a bit, I came across the following issues, the reason why I’m asking for a non-UPX dar formula:
“UPX compressed application fails to start on latest macOS release: Big Sur 11.01"
https://github.com/upx/upx/issues/424
and
“Top Big Sur bottling issues”
https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/issues/65000
thanks
