In order to build a stand-alone statically-linked dar binary you need
to have the library dependencies available as static (.a files).

You already have some of those libraries available in static form
otherwise configure would have suggested more as missing.

You could emerge those missing libraries with a static build flag,
rebuild dar and then rebuild those libraries without the static build
flag again. It wouldn't take long to do this.
