To give a little update: > 1. add a -i (for ignore tar errors) function. is added, only when restoring. Capturing tar errors when backupping is still important :) > 2. If a second -V is appended to the command line. > Display all the commands that are executed. > It helps if I'm trying to debug some sort of network problem. I have to make -d (see below) and -V more consequent, after that is done, I doubt it if a second -V will add any needed details... > 3. add > group = > in the /etc/hdup/hdup.conf > user = is helpful, but I prefer to apply permissions based on group. is addded. Also a %g is given to the pre/post run scripts, which is expanded to the current group. However this is only done when 'group' is defined in the config file. > 4. If possible allow storage of > backup acct = > backup host = still not convinced :-) > 5. This may be a long shot as it may require more work. > add an hdup "list" option. I've done something else. A -d (--dryrun) option is added, which will show what will be done - but nothing really is. hdup already says what archives are used when restoring, with this swith you can get this list without actually running hdup. (will requiring some awk-ing to parse the output, but stillo usefull IMO). I will post a "beta" to the list in a few days so that people can test some stuff and let me know if there are some issues, If somebody wants to test it _now_, let me know offlist, Thanks, grtz, --Miek -- today's fortune: A lack of leadership is no substitute for inaction.
