for the debian machine, it should be as easy as: apt-get install hdup
(if you are running Sarge that is).

And hdup should compile under windows with cgywin. But I have no
experience with it what so ever.

On other possibility would be to export the backup disk on windows and
use samba to write the backup from the sparc to there.
