Getting hdup 2.x into Debian 3.1 before it is release

If hdup 1.6 is dead, I hope we can get hdup 2.x into
Debian ASAP.

If Debian 3.1 (sarge) is released with hdup 1.6, then
that is what most people will get when they try to
install hdup with:

apt-get install hdup

And knowing Debian, it'll remain that whay for 2-3
years.  Sarge is expected to be released early this
year so the cutoff for new packages is right around
the corner.

Perhaps an email from the hdup developer to the hdup
package maintainer can get the ball rolling faster
than a 'new upstream version' email from a random
user.
