Re: hdup-2.0.14: backups > 2 times expected size, and very slow

Now that the backup device has filled up and hdup has exited, I can see
evidence of possibly two separate problems:

1) Files are getting backed up multiple times.  The "filelist" appears
correct, but tar seems to descend into each directory listed there.  The
result is that a file  a/b/foo appears three times in the tarball, and
a/b/c/d/e/foo appears six times, and so on.

2) The nobackup directive in the [global] section of hdup.conf is not
honoured.

Has anyone seen this behaviour before, and is there a solution?
