cron job

Hello,

I am new to hdup and to cron jobs. I have installed hdup on Debian and am trying
to configure it. I am not quite sure how to make the cron file. I am not quite
sure what the cron file exactly does.

I would like to back up my /etc and /home directory once per week (sometime in
the middle of the night) while maintaining the owners and permissions.

Any suggestions?
