The size of the backup medium isn't important.  I was just trying to
be as concrete as possible, when describing my problem, to avoid

Ok.  Thanx for the info.

Do I need to do a full backup once a month, or can I use the one
monthly backup, all the way, until the pen drive is full?

Thanx for that info as well. :-)

The data in question, are the document directory tree from my home
directory, my config files, the /etc directory of the computer, the
cyrus IMAPd email database on the computer, and a small CVS archive.
Most files here don't change very often.
