both libmcrypt and mcrypt itself use configure, and they look pretty well
ported (saw some remarks on something not working on Alpha machines).

Has anybody compiled mcrypt on OS X? And maybe there is a fink package
(fink = ports from debian to OS X, at least i thought it was called fink).
