Hi, thanks to everybody for the good feedback. Based on it, I've decided to not take any immediate action (aka remove the command alltogether), but rather merge it into an action plug-in as described in the RFE: https://github.com/rdiff-backup/rdiff-backup/issues/772 Feel free to comment further on the issue.
