Question about cvm-chain module

Does anyone has a working run script for cvm-chain they could throw my
way?  I'm attempting to get it working, but not having much luck.  One
of the problems is I'm not certain whether it's supposed to be used as
a service like cvm-unix, or as part of the command line like
cvm-checkpassword.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
