Announcing barch version 0.5

Version 0.5 of barch is now available at:

Changes in version 0.5

Since the last release, barch has been completely rewritten in C
(instead of C++).  The resulting source is cleaner and easier to develop
(not to mention at least slightly more efficient).  The resulting
program is also more feature complete, and less of a prototype work.

This package contains an archiver, similar to tar, but designed
specifically to improve on some of the deficiencies that tar has.

Right now the implementation is pretty bare bones, but it is being
released as a kind of "proof of concept" in the hopes of getting some
feedback on the concepts and/or preliminary implementation.

A mailing list has been set up to discuss this and other packages.

Development versions of barch are available via Subversion at:

Installation:

- Make sure the latest version of bglibs from
  http://untroubled.org/bglibs/ is compiled and installed.
- Build the sources by running "make"
- After the package has been compiled, run the following command as root:
  	make install

according to the GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE (GPL) Version 2 or a later
version.  A copy of this license is included with this package.  This
