RE: QMail autoresponder-mysql

Hi,

 

Never mind. I seem to have it working. A reset solved the problem.

Unfortunately not completely because there are some things that are not
yet ok:

 

-          It is not working nicely with maildrop yet. Maildrop seems to
add a delivered-to line which causes qmail-autorespond-mysql to drop the
message as being a dupe

-          I have to figure out how to get the from field correctly into
the message

I hope someone can help me with the following problem:

 

I have setup qmail-autorespond-mysql like this:

 

Added the correct section to the /etc/my.cnf file:

                [qmail-autoresponder]

                user=vpopmail_edit

                password=*****

                host=localhost

                database=vpopmail

 

The database schema has been imported into the vpopmail database and the
autoresponder 

table contains the following data:

 

id:                                           1

username:                          someone

domain:                               mydomain.local

response:                            From: ####@####.####

                                                I am currently not
available.

opt_subject_prefix:       [Out of office]

 

I set up a .qmail file in the appropriate vpopmail folder
/home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.local/someone

This file contains the following line:

 

|qmail-autoresponder-mysql "$EXT" "$HOST"

 

I also have checked to see if $EXT and $HOST will translate to the
correct values and they do so it should work.

In my /home/vpopmail/domains/mydomain.local folder I have a
.qmail-default file that has the following line:

 

|/var/qmail/bin/vdelivermail '' bounce-no-mailbox

 

When I send an email from the postmaster account with my roundcube
webmail client I can see that the email has

been received and delivered but I do not get an autorespond message
back. The email is not delivered locally but 

that is logical because I have only 1 line in my .qmail file so it will
only deliver the email to the autoresponder and

will do no local delivery. I should then add ./Maildir/ but at this
point I only care to get the autorespond message

and will add it later when everything is working.  

 

I tried to see if I can check what output it generates by rewriting the
.qmail file into:

 

|qmail-autoresponder-mysql -N "$EXT" "$HOST" > /tmp/output

 

Unfortunately this will leave me with the same result and an empty
/tmp/output file

 

Does anyone what I did wrong and what needs to change to make sure that
I will receive the autoresponder message?
