RHEL4 cfengine 2.2.1-4 glibc error: free() invalid next size

Our output directory contains two of these:

 

[root@up-pwc3 outputs]# grep glibc *

RHEL4.7, cfengine 2.2.1, kernel 2.6.9-78

 

[root@up-pwc3 outputs]# cat /etc/redhat-release 

Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant Update 7)

[root@up-pwc3 outputs]# rpm -qa | grep cfengine

cfengine-2.2.1-4.el4

[root@up-pwc3 outputs]# uname -a

Linux up-pwc3.dmzw.det.nsw.edu.au 2.6.9-78.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP Tue Jul 22 18:01:05 EDT 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

 

Box is a dl385-g1

 

The bug appears only occasionally, twice in two days. I have not been able to reproduce it running cfagent manually.
