That is why there would be a very long deprecation period before it is 
actually removed.  Or an "API level" could be introduced, with 
testsuites expected to declare the API version that they expect.  (No 
declaration is "legacy/ancient" API level.)

I would not expect it to be actually removed before 2.0.
