Committed with the following changes:

    * Reporting level on immediate exit should be RPT_CRIT (see
      shared/report.h).
    * Renamed ethlcd_senddata() to ethlcd_send_low() to avoid confusion
      with ethlcd_HD44780_senddata().
    * Convert comments and pass through indent for style fixes.
    * Remove in-code history (see CVS log for this).
