Hello all. First let me apologise if this is the wrong place, but I can't seem to find the resources I am after anywhere else. I have recently acquired a couple of epson serial vfd's from point of sale stands (as purchased on eBay<http://cgi.ebay.com/Epson-serial-VFD-Display-Arduino-LCD-Smartie-/110448153207?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19b7391277#ht_500wt_949> ). I have tested the display under WinXP with lcd smartie and it mostly works apart from a couple of odd characters every now and again. Having moved on to lcdproc (Ubuntu 10.10) I am having a few small problems. Config is at least partially working. I get valid characters but I have different problems depending on protocol selected for the serialpos driver. If I select AEDEX, the 1st line of the default welcome, however it repeats on the second line of my vfd, and has various alternating characters. Looking something like this:- _#### LCDproc Server ~'1## LCDproc Server with the first 3 characters of each line flickering in a repeatative fashion. If I select Epson as the protocol, I get a string of 010101010101 over and over (despite attempting to display and rotate between the default screens of lcdproc. Standard setup, serialPOS, 20x2, ttyS0, 115200, unchanged config from default apart from these settings. Anyone have any ideas? Perhaps the command set on my display is slightly different than other Epson displays? Any help into where I can go from here would be appreciated.
